The battle for Harlem

Many say rocketing rents are forcing them to leave
the neighbourhood
This week Inside USA travels to Harlem in New York to look at the changing face of the United States' most famous African-American neighbourhood.

It is traditional for politicians, including Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, to make the trip up to Harlem to campaign for votes and to show that they are in touch with the black community.

But many living in the neighbourhood say that they are being forced out by sky-rocketing rent prices.

With those residents gone, and new people moving in, many wonder whether the community will be able to maintain its cultural significance.

Inside USA looks at the fight some of the residents are fighting to keep their space, and maintain their presence in a battle for the soul of Harlem.
