Your views: Kashmir elections.

Voters in Indian-administered Kashmir have been voting for a new state government, in a seven part process ending on December 24. Rebels have been urging the Muslim majority population to boycott the vote in protest against federal rule from New Delhi, which was instituted in July after the state government collapsed following a controversial decision to donate land to a Hindu pilgrim trust. Can anything be achieved by boycotting elections?
